Suggestions for Music to Labor By

Still no baby news--aside from the fact that the little cuss is kicking up a storm and moving here, there, everywhere. Yesterday was a particularly active day. Baby even wiggled his/her toes at one point, which was the first time I'd felt that. It was like a little butterfly tickling my tummy.

So Martin and I are mostly prepped and ready to go. We finished packing the bag this morning and are ready to start burning CDs to listen to whilst producing life. I'd like some suggestions for any good songs; we need high-energy music as well as more mellow tunes. They don't need to be birth-themed (like Salt-n-Pepa's "Push It"), but you can go that direction if you'd like.

Any help?

Nope. No help. ;) We BROUGHT a boom box and some CDs, but I don't even think they made it into the hospital (Steve actually forgot to bring EVERYTHING from the car into the hospital--including my bag. I guess he was a little distracted). I don't know why, but the thought of having music in the room just didn't do it for me when the time came... Besides, Ben's birth was hairy enough that I could have seen the docs telling us to turn it off.

that said, something from the Rocky soundtrack seems appropriate, doesn't it? Or that "... looks like we made it" song. hehehe. I hear Spoon is effective for getting babies to scramble out of the ole' ute as well. : )

Yes, I imagine the music will be more for Martin and Joanna. I'm also guessing at some point I might (ever-so-politely and calmly, I'm sure) request that they turn it off.

We need to find Ben a little Spoon T-shirt since he owes so much to them....

What's with that baby? How long is s/he going to make us wait?? Until your due date? So rude. Hasn't Baby ever heard of being fashionably early?

I have no labor music suggestions. I do think Holst's Planets would do nicely, but perhaps that's not to all tastes.

I suggest that you choose whatever kind of music makes you feel powerful, invincible and determined. You know the mood...pick that!

We know this will be a worthy suggestion which of course is back in our time frame of the older that dirt time frame.

Something by Elvis maybe? And mentally watching him gyrate. I am sure that would be inspirational.

Get here soon Baby Barron we are all ready except one person that is.
