Jumperoo, I Love You

Well, we've pulled out the ole Jumperoo (thanks again to Mary Beth's Owen and Nora for sharing all of their great baby toys!), and Libby adores it. It's a little too stimulating for her right now, so she only lasts a minute or two. But as you can see from the photos, during those minutes, she's a woman on a mission. "I will have fun, and I will have fun NOW." Look at the determination in the second picture!

P.S. Yes, I know Libby's naked here. Yes, you've all sent beautiful little outfits that I should have on her. We're in the midst of another spit-up frenzy; this combined with the drooling had me giving up on clothes yesterday after three outfit changes.

P.S. Libby ate green beans today. This is a girl who loves her solids! A sweet potatoes experiment last week possibly ended in a little tummy upset, so we bagged the veggies and stuck with cereal for the past week. She's now a pro at opening her mouth, grabbing the spoon, jamming it in, and then smearing any excess all over her head and body.

Home Again...

Libby and I got back home Thursday, and Daddy spent the whole weekend filling himself up with some Libby Love. Poor Martin missed his little girl!

Not that Libby was spoiled while in Ohio, but I think you might see a theme in the following pictures. (Gee, I wonder why she's a little out-of-sorts now that she's in Chicago, and she's actually not being held 24-7?)

Greetings from Lake Erie!

Libby and I have been enjoying some Grandma and Grandpa time this week. I don't want to say that Libby has worn my parents out, but I think this picture might say it all.

Looks like Grandma and Grandpa have worn out Libby, too. (I'm not sure how she stayed on Mom's lap during this little co-nap.)

Libby also got lots of cousin and aunt time this weekend when my sisters came up to Lake Erie for a visit. Libby LOVES to have her cousins around to worship at the altar of her adorableness. Her cousin Ian loves to be around so as to play with the Brest Friend (the nursing pillow he's wearing below). Doesn't Libby seem to be enjoying herself? I love her look in this picture: "Hellllp mmeeeee!"

More pictures of the visit to come when we get home and I upload the shots from my own camera.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've tortured Libby with some punny hilarity ever since she got her much-beloved lion (thanks to our neighbors the Roses). I'll spin that joke off for her Valentine's message to you all, dear blog readers:

Happy Valentine's Day. I love you -- and I'm not lion.
Love, Libby Vida

And then, just as our photo shoot was almost over, Libby went and got all George Costanza on me. She already loves "Seinfeld"? Yep, she's our daughter all right.

Big Girl!

Last week's 4-month well visit went wonderfully! Libby (now that she doesn't spit up four or five times after each feeding) is gaining weight very well! She's up to 12 pounds and something like 13 ounces. You'll notice that Libby is still follicularly challenged. Bald is beautiful, baby!

She's big enough now to use her Exersaucer, which she adores. (However, she gets exhausted pretty quickly by it, so we only enjoy it in limited doses.) Can you believe the difference in the few weeks since we last tried the Exersaucer with her? If I'm quiet, I think I might be able to hear her growing.

She's also super-smiley and giggly right now and only gets more so with each day. What fun! Who in the world ever would have thought it back in those early screamy, crabby, teary days?!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Brrrr. I hope you and yours are keeping warm! Toledo, Columbus, and Baltimore were all mentioned on the news here yesterday in regards to weather, so we know you guys are just as cold as we are.

Other than a slight case of cabin fever, we're all doing great! Libby's 4-month appointment is tomorrow, so let's hope the peanut weighs in well. Her tummy definitely seems more chubby and tickleable right now.

Libby's been staying nice and cozy (as well as fashionable and adorable) thanks to her grandmas.
