Tuesday we took a semi-spontaneous trip to Beloit to see my college friend Amy and her three wonderful children. The kids were excited to see the baby, and Libby drank in all of their attention. Piper and Avery were my trusty helpful companions throughout the visit, and Brooks was a constant source of entertainment -- even as he bravely fought off his fear of the ducks at our lunch restaurant ("Bite! Bite!")
Then yesterday was playgroup day, where -- alas -- I got few good pictures. Here's an adorable one of Leela and her mom Jay. An adorable one of Rachel and her Michelin Man arms. And only a so-so one of my own daughter. Oh, well.

Seems like you guys have had a busy and exciting couple of days! Is that a watermelon outfit on Libby? I absolutely love it!(Would anyone care if I dressed my little boy in watermelon dresses?)
Amy: You family is just gorgeous! I also wanted you to know that the magazines that you so generously gifted to me have made their way to Guatemala. My husband brings them down when he visits. Thank you!
The Beloit gang had a great visit with Libby and Kerri. Wish we could get together more often but it seems like we live oh so close, yet oh so far. ... And traveling with three small ones is not always the easiest. But it gets easier every day. Kerri, you bring that little Libby here any time you want. We wouldn't even mind if you forgot to bring her back home. There's room for one more. ...
As for you, Jo, I'm glad you are getting some use out of those magazines. If nothing else, it's a diversion from your situation down there. I know I've been a wallflower, but I check your blog every day to see all of the latest pics of your little guy and any breaking news on the status of your adoption. I'm thinking about you and hoping the best for your whole family. "Runners to your mark." ...
