Well, it's cold and rainy (again) here today, but I have fond memories of walking to the park last week to meet Kelly and the girls.

Hangin' in Libby's Crib
I forgot my camera today for playgroup (curses!), but I do have some pictures from last week's playgroup (hosted by yours truly ... errr, yourses trulies? is that the plural form?).
Here's the background to the photos: We've just started dipping our toes into the cloth-diapering waters, and Rachel's mom, Katie, was set last week to give me a lesson in how to put them on, etc. (they're really not hard!).
Anyway, we needed a place to put the girls while we got everything set. What better place than Libby's crib? And tah-dah: Instant bestest friends! I think Rachel's affronted look in the second picture is probably from some massive pawing on Libby's part.
Thanks to Rachel's mom, Katie, for the photos for this post!

Nibbling on a Good Book
Libby is quite the reader. (And if you think that by that I mean she likes to chew on the books while we read to her, then you're right.)

P.S.
There's a new post that I wrote a week or so back but only now got around to adding the pictures and posting it. It's below and titled "The Namesake."
Libby Barron, Egg Detective
I did a horrible job of documenting Libby's first Easter. However, she was a wonderful egg hunter, as you can see. (Aunt Kandi's only pointing to the egg because she and Libby were discussing its artistic merits, and Kandi was pointing out the stunning color pattern of its dye. She wasn't helping Libby at all, no sir.)
Libby learned everything she knows from her cousin Diana.

Photo Shoot II
Oh, are you still wearing green beans? That is so five minutes ago. Carrots are much cooler. (In case you can't tell, our spit-up issues have returned a bit.)

Photo Shoot
Libby and I went home to my parents' house for Easter. I had debated the trip, but the lure of seeing my aunt Barbara and cousin Vickie (up from Florida) finally won out. It wasn't the best trip in the world; our little Libby, such a wonderful sleeper here at home, was a horrible sleeper there. This mommy was beat. I'll post some more pictures from the trip when I'm on the other computer.
While we were home, my sisters kept cracking up at how much Libby likes getting her picture taken. The minute she sees the camera now, it's *pow* smiles and hamming it up. We had a little photo shoot tonight. Gee, I don't think she's a ham at all. (And please disregard the green beans smeared all over her shirt. What -- you don't wear your dinner on your clothes? Libby and I feel so sorry for you.)

Toofer!
Libby has her first tooth! Libby has her first tooth! Blogger is having trouble posting pictures (what else is new?), but that's OK because she's being very shy about showing it, so I don't think I could get a picture anyway.
She was really good throughout the teething. We figured it was happening because she a little more crabby than usual and wasn't eating well. She always chews on everything, so that didn't give it away.
It's on the bottom, just to the side. I can't believe my little girl has a tooth already. Wow.

The Namesake
I saw "The Namesake" on Saturday (after a meltdown of "Noooo. Mooore. Libby. Must. Escape. House.). If you haven't read the book, go buy it right now and just enjoy. If you haven't seen the movie, I'd recommend it. The romance and love in it between the parents was some of the most beautiful I've ever seen on film. It brought me to tears a few times.
Anyway, the movie got me thinking about namesakes and how lucky Libby is to have not one but two truly wonderful namesakes. This post is honor of you, Grandma Elizabeths!
To make it even more special, Elizabeth is multi-generational on both sides. So this post is also for you, Great-Grandma Elizabeth (and for you, cousins Kennedy Elizabeth and Diana Elizabeth).
