Our Little Peanut

Libby's still just a little bitty shrimp -- 11 pounds and 15 ounces. She's such a tiny little thing. Seeing as how Martin and I are so petite, she surely must get that genetically. I told the GI doc that I couldn't understand how I could have a child so uninterested in food, and she told me that -- alas -- Libby will likely enjoy food just fine when she's older. Enjoy the slimness while it lasts, kid.

Libby adores two main pursuits these days (God knows she doesn't send much time eating): giving expert raspberries and being a Libby Monster.

Her raspberries are bountiful and enthusiastic. I try not to take it personally when she greets me with one every time I get her from her crib. I turn on the light, she realizes I'm in the room, and "Bbbbbllllttttttt." I have a video clip of her doing raspberries to her cloth diaper burp cloth (her favorite toy these days). Someday I might even have time to post it.

The Libby Monster has nothing to do with our peanut's behavior (which, by the way, was very smiley and giggly today). The Libby Monster is the gravelly, guttural voice that Libby has learned she can make. All day long all you hear is "Grrrr." She loves it, and it's guaranteed a laugh from unsuspecting strangers.

These pictures are from a little photo shoot I did on a very smiley day last week. However, as soon as Libby sees the camera in our hands, she becomes very serious and curious as to what that infernal contraption might be.... So we never get good pictures of her smiling. This is as close as I came that day:

Our little peanut is growing and almost has her parents trained into her new baby ways. Whatever that is. She knows and someday will be able to explain it to us adults. Right now she just looks at you with those cold steely eyes and you can only say I am glad she can't explain that look. This it might contain some naughty language.

Keep growing little peanut. right now she is petite like her Grandma and Grandpa.

Love to everyone.

Libby is perfectly adorable...just like her momma. Hope all three of us can go out to lunch or dinner soon. I would love to catch up.
