I just left a ditch the size of the Grand Canyon in my youngest daughter's hand. That is all. (I must go now to collect my Mother of the Year award.)
Update: In case you don't see my comment, I actually nail-clipped a huge ditch out of Emma's fingertip. Worse than I ever have in the past. Thankfully, Libby has toughened Emma up to where she didn't mind so much.

Oh, Kerri...:( *hugs* I don't know how it happened, but, assuming it was an accident, we all have those moments. I lfell asleep and let poor Rory roll clear off of a (high) bed when she was 7 months old. A friend of mine dropped her 3-month old on his head from a standing position, and another friend practically knocked her infant off of some high surface - I forget what - onto the floor. Leave the award alone; I'm sure someone else has topped you this year. :)

Goodness gracious, look what happens when I post while a four-year old is talking to me...I meant, of course, that someone else has topped you in doing something worse, thereby earning the right to the *sarcastic* claim to the mother of the year award!!
Sorry 'bout that. I hope you knew what I meant!

Just to clarify -- I was giving her a "manicure" and practically lopped off the poor kid's fingertip with the clippers. That's a good way to feel really crummy about your parenting.
Thank you, Staci. I always like being reminded that I'm not the only imperfect mom out there. It helps especially on days like this when I've inadvertently maimed my daughter.
Oh, geez...is *that* all you did??? Paul and I EACH did that to Rory at least once! Those fingertips can bleed, can't they?
No worries, Mama. We're all imperfect moms. Otherwise, our kids would be perfect and the world would be perfect, and that would get so boring that we'd kill ourselves...and there would go the species.
:)
Gee...I wonder if she will show you her finger for the next 40 years and say...look what you did to me...my finger is deformed!! (I burned Kerri's ear with a curling iron when she was little...she swears I made her ear deformed for life!)

Sadly, I have buckled Ben's tummy flesh into the carseat buckle not once... but TWICE. Talk about the shriek to end all shrieks. And the first time, I thought he was just being a pill for, say, 2 full minutes before I realized there was a legitimate reason for his screams of agony. High fives.
D'oh. It happens to us all. :)
Yep--ditto on the above comments. Yesterday I lifted my little one out of her car seat and into the roof of the car. Oops.

Kim and Kerri,
Remember when I clipped Ian's chin at the Dayton airport in front of about 50 people? The poor lad's chin even bled! I also clipped part of Kennedy or Vincent's (of course I can't remember which) toe off in Disney World. I thought Vinnie and my poor child were going to kill me. I'm sure Emma's forgotten it even happened!
Love,
Kandi
Ah, this just takes me back to that wonderful day when I let Alejandro drop off the bed (onto his head), not once, no, but twice.
Baby manicures are very very scary.
How about a father of the year award for when Brian banged Kyle's head into the (moving) ceiling fan?
Don't worry, you are not the wowst mom in da whowl worwld.
xo
