Sleep? We don't need no stinkin' sleep!

Well, Libby has decided that rather than sleeping at all last night, she'd stay up with mom and dad. " What? Mom and Dad aren't going to stay up all night? Well, I know how to change that!"

It's kinda surprising how little sleep a person needs to function. Though, I wonder if the adrenaline of having her home is just masking the true effect of sleeplessness right now.

Kerri and I did a decent job of swithing off last night. Unfortunately, she has to bear the brunt of it because she has to feed her unless my man boobs suddenly gush forth (which, frankly, I'm neither counting on nor hoping for).

I wonder if a newborn is what the CIA is using to torture al qaeda members with "extreme sleep deprivation." I wonder what that requisition form looks like.

Good morning Libby,

We can't let this sleep thing go without comment. You have some work to do with your parents to show them who is boss and besides they have only been sleeping lots since they got married and frankly have been getting to much sleep. Now they can walk around with red eyes from lack of sleep like all new Mom and Dads.

Our only request is that you sleep when we come to visit you. Unlike your parents we need our sleep. Ha

Our love to you.

Don't worry, it gets better. I think Ben was about 2 months old when I started getting a decent amount of sleep. Everyone always says, "nap when the baby naps". I was never able to do this. When Ben slept, I took advantage and did house work. It will get better, I promise.

I loved the video...she is beautiful! I can't wait to see pictures of her playing with her dolls.

Love you!

I think Al Quaeda uses toddlers. ;)

Seriously...welcome to the land of sleep-deprivation. Get comfy...I recommend you learn to enjoy the unique kind of "intoxication" (hallucinations, slurring, bumping into furniture, forgetting your spouse's name) that comes with it.

She's just beautiful, guys. I can't wait to give her sloppy smooches.

LMAO at Staci's post. Yes, definitely toddlers. : )

Remember my comment about the liquor. They say that when they reach, like, 15 pounds that they're capable of sleeping through the night without eating--so, once she hits that weight, YOU hit the Absolut and give her a little nudge in the right direction. OK? hehehe...

The sleep deprivation thing seemed like the end of the world to me at the time, but was over and done with much more quickly than I expected... though I suspect Ben will continue waking with the rooster until at least high school, so I too can only dream of sleeping in for now. Hang in there. The worst of it will be over before you know it.

She's gone for my hair nipple only once. She was sorely disappointed.
